garth brooks tickets
If you hope to snag tickets to the Garth Brooks concert at the Sprint Center in November, we have good news, better news and old news.
The good news: Whether by phone, by Internet or at a ticket outlet, tickets for the Nov. 14 show will be available at 10 a.m. Saturday only to fans in Kansas, Missouri (minus St. Louis) and small patches of Iowa, Nebraska and Oklahoma that receive country radio service from Missouri or Kansas. Ticketmaster will void the orders of buyers with billing addresses outside that region.
"Garth has gone out of his way to try to be as accommodating as possible to people in the immediate area," said Ben Farrell of Varnell Enterprises in Nashville, Tenn., which represents Brooks.
The better news: Tickets will be no more than $32.50 for all seats (at a base price of $25) ― a bargain no matter where you sit.
But here's the old news: The purchasing procedure will be generally the same as it was for previous Sprint Center shows. Tickets still will be available at the Sprint Center and all Ticketmaster outlets or by telephone or the Internet. But to discourage people from lining up at ticket outlets, a lottery system will be used.
But it is not at all clear how this lottery system could prevent the kind of ticket controversy created by the Sprint Center's Elton John and Hannah Montana shows, which sold out in minutes.
"Is (the ticket system) going to take a few nonlocal brokers out of the equation? Probably," said Carson Brackney, general manager of Ace Sports and Nationwide Tickets in Overland Park. "Is it going to prevent some huge Garth Brooks fans from out of the defined geographic region from getting tickets when they're offered? Obviously. Is it going to suddenly eliminate the secondary market for tickets? No."
The lottery system
Tickets can be purchased any of three ways:
?Online at Ticketmaster.com.
?By phone at any of these three Ticketmaster numbers: 816-931-3330 (Kansas City); 785-234-4545 (Topeka); 816-232-3322 (St. Joseph).
?In person at a Ticketmaster outlet ― these sales are cash only.
Anyone over the age of 12 planning to get tickets in person will need a numbered wristband, which guarantees its bearer only a place in line. It does not guarantee a ticket or a good place in line.
Wristbands will be distributed at the arena and all Ticketmaster outlets in Kansas and Missouri (except in St. Louis) from 10 a.m. today through 7 p.m. Friday ― or until supplies run out. If you don't get a wristband, you can still go to a Ticketmaster outlet and stand in the "late line."
A wristband will be placed on each person's left wrist. It must remain there throughout the ticketing process. Any wristbands that appear to be tampered with will be invalidated, and that person will be sent to the "late line."
Without exception, wristband holders must return to the outlet that distributed their wristbands by 8:45 a.m. Saturday. If you're late, your wristband will be invalidated and ― late line!
Saturday morning, organizers will pick one number at random. The person with that number will be first in line at that site. People will line up behind that person in sequential order, according to wristband numbers.
For example, if the No. 12 out of 100 wristbands is selected at your site, the person with the No. 12 wristband will be first in line, followed by people with wristband numbers 13, 14, 15 through 100. Then people with wristband numbers 1 through 11 will line up in numerical order after No. 100. CASH is the only accepted method of payment. Ticket price, inclusive of all fees, will be $31.00 per ticket and there is a limit of 6 tickets.
Wristbands will be issued at 10:00 AM, Thursday, October 4, 2007 thru Friday, October 5th at 7:00 pm or until supplies run out. If you arrive at a store after wristbands have been depleted or after 7:00 pm on Friday, October 5th, you will go to the "late line" on Saturday, October 6th behind those with wristbands.
Wristband customers MUST return to the ticket center where the wristband was obtained by 8:45 AM, Saturday, October 6th. At this time Ticket Center personnel will get all wristband holders lined up in numerical order. If you arrive after 8:45 am, your wristband will be voided and you will go to the "late line".
ONE Wristband per customer (It will be put on by Ticket Center Personnel on your LEFT wrist).
You must be 12 years of age or older and able to be in line unaccompanied to participate in the wristband procedure.
A Wristband does not guarantee you a ticket, only a place in line.
Wristbands are non-transferable, if you tamper with the wrist band, it will be voided and you will go to the "late Line"
The starting Wristband number will be announced at each Ticket Center at 9:00 AM, on Saturday, October 6th.
Once the starting wristband number is announced, the customer wearing the wristband that matches the starting number will be first in line (For Example: if wristbands 1-100 where issued and wristband 10 was drawn, the line would start with 10, then 11, 12 13 thru 100 then 1-9).
When the starting wrist band number is announced, the line will shift accordingly. Tickets will be sold on a best available basis. Customers are allowed only one transaction per event with a 6 ticket limit. You must remain orderly.
"Late Line" customers can start lining up first come first serve at 9 AM on Saturday, October 6th, in the designated area for "Late Line". Ticketmaster / Ticket Center assumes no responsibility for unforeseen technical problems.
The "Late Line" is for any customer not having a wristband or has had a wristband voided. The "Late Line" will line up behind the wristband line once the final wristband line has been formed based on the starting number announced Tickets to Garth Brooks' concert Nov. 14 in Kansas City, Mo., will go on sale Saturday in Wichita at FYE music store in Towne East Square.
