Whenever India plays against any country then it makes BCCI richer. I love to see India playing against Australia in Australia. This is a real test for any team to face Australia in Australia. Australian Cricket team is very dominating in its own country. In this December, India is going to Australia and will play 4 test matches against Australia.

Cricket Australia announced today that the Indians, who are likely to be Down Under for about 75 days, will play their opening Test here from December 26-30, traditionally known as the Boxing Day Test.

The Indians will play the second Test in Sydney from January 2-6 followed by two other Tests in Perth (Jan 16-20) and Adelaide (Jan 24-28).

The Test series will be followed by a triangular one-day tournament involving Sri Lanka as the third team.

The limited overs series would begin from February 3 with the Australian capital Canberra, not known to be a regular cricketing venue, hosting a India-Sri Lanka match on February 12.


By the way, India will also play a Twenty20 match against Australia in that tour. There is going to be some changes in Indian cricket. I wonder if Sourav Ganguly will be able to play in that tour. He has a lot of experience of playing in Australia.

Now, India is without a coach and I hope that BCCI can find a good coach for Indian team very soon.
India pulled off a narrow 8 run victory against Australia in the fourth one-day match at Chandigarh to stay alive in the Future Cup series today.
India, who posted a daunting 291 for 4 in their 50 overs with half-centuries from Sachin Tendulkar (79) and skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni (50 no), restricted the visitors to 283 for 7. With the series now 2-1 in Australia� favour, the rest of the three ODIs will definitely set up an interesting series, should India now comeback in the next match to be on level terms. The Australian chase was set up by two powerful innings from opener Matthew Hayden (92) and Andrew Symonds (75), who scored his third fifty of the series.

Kartik replaces Powar for next two ODIs

India recalled left-arm spinner Murali Kartik for the next two one-day internationals against Australia in the ongoing Future Cup.
He replaces off-spinner Ramesh Powar, who failed to impress in the first two one-dayers of the ongoing seven-match series before being dropped for the third game here against the tourists. The 31-year-old Kartik has grabbed 27 wickets in 30 ODIs, his last match being in Pakistan in 2006. He played for English county Middlesex this season, taking 51 wickets in 12 matches.
The next two matches against Australia will be played at Chandigarh on Monday and at Vadodara on Thursday.

India lost the third one-day international of the seven-match Future Cup Series, going down by 47 runs to Australia in Hyderabad today.
Yuvraj Singh batted with caution in the early part of his innings and then switched to his free flowing strokes but failed to see the team to the victory mark. Yuvraj's century was of little use as he was out scoring 121 of just 115 balls in the 43rd over with India still requiring 72 runs for victory and just two wickets remaining. Sreesanth was the last wicket, bowled Clark for 1, leaving India 47 runs behind with 14 balls remaining.

The team had earlier suffered a major setback just when they seemed to be recovering from the initial hiccups. Tendulkar lost his wicket at a score of 43 runs from 71 balls due to a straighter delivery from Hogg. The scorecard read at 108 for the loss of 4 wickets at the end of 25 overs. Uthappa (2-11) and Dravid (3-13) both scored ducks while RP Sharma went for 1 and Gambhir for 6. Lee took 3 for 37 while Hogg got 3 for 46. Andrew Symonds who top-scored with a rollicking 89 off 67 balls was the Man of the Match.

Australian captain Ricky Ponting is set to make a comeback into the team in the third ODI against India in Hyderabad on Friday.
Ponting has regained fitness after a hamstring injury while left-arm seamer Nathan Bracken, who was granted leave to attend the birth of his child, is also ready to play. Ponting will replace Brad Hodge, but it is still unclear who makes way for Bracken. Mitchell Johnson's impressive performance in Kochi might well retain him his place and if Bracken is included it might well be at the expense of Brett Lee.

Australia handed India a crushing 84-run defeat to earn a 1-0 lead in the five-match one-day series. Australia made a mighty 306-5 in the second one-day international against India, with major contributions from Andrew Symonds and Brad Haddin. Symonds hit two sixes and nine fours in making 87 off 83 balls, and put on 108 with Brad Haddin (87 not out off 69).

In reply, India lost wickets at regular intervals and was bowled out in 47.3 overs. Robin Uthappa made 41 off 30 balls, while Gambhir fell cheaply, and Sachin Tendulkar and Yuvraj Singh played lazy shots to throw away their wickets. Dhoni made an 88-ball 58, the only half century among Indians.

Earlier, Indian captain Mahendra Dhoni won the toss and asked Australia to bat first in the second one-day international on Tuesday. Start of play was delayed by 30 minutes to 0415 GMT because of dew on the pitch, but there was no reduction of overs. India made two changes from the rain-abandoned opening match, including fit-again Harbhajan Singh as a second spinner alongside fellow off spinner Ramesh Powar. Left-arm paceman Rudra Pratap Singh was left out.

Reported Earlier: Rain threatened a washout of the second one-day international Tuesday between India and Australia after the opening game met a similar fate last week. A heavy shower Monday morning ruined the training plans of the teams at the Kerala Cricket Association ground, which is soggy after days of monsoon rains.
With the weathermen forecasting rain on Tuesday as well, chances of any play look bleak. Meanwhile, Robin Uthappa is recovering from a hamstring problem, while off-spinner Harbhajan Singh is expected to be available for the match after missing the first game with a neck sprain.

Former India captain and opening batsman Sourav Ganguly will miss Tuesday's One-Day International against Australia in Kochi due to a hamstring strain, the cricket board said Sunday.
Ganguly, 34, suffered the strain while fielding in the rain-abandoned first ODI at Bangalore Saturday. A scan Sunday morning revealed that there was no serious injury, the board said in a statement. Rain played a spoilsport during the second half of the India-Australia one-day series opener in Bangalore today, with wet outfield forcing both the on-gound umpires to abandon the match.
Chasing 308, India was 9 for one after 2.4 overs against Australia in the first ODI of the seven-match series in Bangalore on Saturday when rain stopped play. India could manage just 9 runs losing the vital wicket of Sachin Tendulkar for a duck. Gambhir and Tendulkar started the Indian run chase amidst rain showers in Bangalore when Tendulkar was caught plumb leg before wicket without scoring.
Earlier, Michael Clarke's brilliant superb century inspired Australia to pile up 307 for seven in 50 overs after electing to bat against India. Clarke's innings of 130 runs included 3 sixes and 10 fours.

Adam Gilchrist promised to make up for Australia's Twenty20 disappointment in the seven-match one-day international series against India.
Gilchrist, leading the side in the absence of Ricky Ponting, who has been ruled out of the first one-dayer due to a hamstring injury, also warned of the depth in the Australian squad. The Indians have been riding high ever since their unexpected triumph at the Twenty20 world championships in South Africa, with a raucous welcome and non-stop celebrations marking their return home.
"We have enough preparation leading into this series. We were probably caught short at the T20 tournament but there's no excuse now," Gilchrist told reporters here. "We know the conditions well here and with the amount of networking we've done we should be good to go," the dashing wicketkeeper-batsman said.
Gilchrist made light of the fact that the side would be without the injured duo of Michael Hussey and Shane Watson and also Nathan Bracken, awaiting the birth of his first child back home. "We definitely have to rely on the depth in our squad. We have six changes in this, our first ODI since the World Cup, owing to retirement and injuries and babies being born. "We've got a few new faces, which not a lot of people would have seen a lot of, and we're confident about them," he said.

Australia to target big three of India

Australian captain Ricky Ponting said yesterday his side was better prepared to tackle the Indian team including big guns Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly as it knows their "strengths and weaknesses".
India would be under pressure after their young team clinched the Twenty20 World Cup, Ponting said addressing the media ahead of the Saturday's one-day game against India, the first of the seven one-day internationals. "One thing that stood out from all of us looking at the Indian team at Twenty20...amount of youthfullness they had in the team, giving a nice fresh air," he said.
"It's unfortunate that some of the younger guys who were in this team will be making way for senior guys to come back. "I guess the thing for us is that we played against these guys a lot. Dravid, Ganguly and Tendulkar -- we should know their strengths and weaknesses very, very well. So, if anything, probably it will make it easier for us to prepare to play and with these guys in the team". Ponting said India would be under pressure.
"...if there is anything, pressure will probably come back on India," he said, adding, there would be lot of expectations from the Indian team after the Twenty20 triumph. "There is no doubt that some of the players will be under pressure," he said.

The Australian cricket team arrived in Bangalore on Wednesday for a seven-match ODI series. The visitors, who appeared jet-lagged after a flight from Johannesburg to Bangalore via Dubai, were given a traditional welcome at the team hotel, as "nadaswaram" rent the air.
The players were welcomed with customary "tilak" and garlands, as they walked in. There was no media interaction.
"Australian skipper Ricky Ponting is slated to address a press conference on Thursday," a local organising official said. The first match of the one-day series would be held on Saturday at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
The tourists are also slated to play a Twenty20 game. The last time the two teams met was in the just-concluded Twenty20 World Cup in South Africa, where Mahendra Singh Dhoni's team beat Australia by 15 runs in the semi-final. India vs Australia World Twenty20 Semi-Final at Durban

India's winter season to start with 12 one-dayers

The Indian cricket team's winter season this year will start with 12 limited-overs internationals against Australia and Pakistan, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said Tuesday.
The Indian board finalized the fixtures for the home series against Australia and Pakistan. Australia will play seven one-dayers during its Sept. 25-Oct.
13 tour of India, scheduled soon after the conclusion of the inaugural Twenty-20 World Cup in South Africa. Pakistan will play five limited-overs internationals, followed by three test matches during its tour of India slated for for Nov. 2-Dec. 13.
After the Pakistan team's visit, the Indian cricketers will leave for a tour of Australia that will feature both tests and one-dayers. India's home schedule will also feature three test matches in March, whose itinerary the board will finalize later.
